Description:

Four Urban Boatbuilders volunteers were camped on Williamson Island Lake Insula (shown in the foreground) when the Pagami Creek fire was transformed into a raging holocaust by 50 mph winds. This picture was taken by Bob Anderson, as he hurriedly left the lake. The fire devoured 16 miles of forest that afternoon.
